Team Member Training Video for 1Password
Hey team!
The IT department is happy to announce that we are ready to roll out our password manager, 1Password.
Good news: passwords just became way less of a headache. We’re moving to 1Password password manager, and getting set up is easier than you think.

💡 Why are we doing this?

Three big reasons:
- We can now create and store strong, complex passwords safely!
- You’ll have way fewer passwords to remember every day!
- You’ll be able to quickly and easily move between any staff machine where you use your Windows login or any Chromebook without typing in all of your passwords.

I love the enthusiasm! Invites will be sent out in the next few days and weeks! So look out for a link from the IT Department email address with a 1Password link, don’t worry this is not a test or a phishing email.
Before you start, keep these things in mind!
When you accept the invitation check to make sure that you are
✔ Logged into YOUR Windows Account? (not someone else’s and NOT AN OPEN COMPUTER)
✔ Logged into Chrome as YOU — (not the branch account)
Both boxes checked? Great, you’ll be good to go!

🆘Save Your Emergency Kit!
When you sign up, you’ll get an Emergency Kit. Keep it secret, keep it safe. Save it in your Documents folder on your desktop that you’ve logged into with your Windows login and in your Google Drive. — You will need it the first time you log in on any computer or Chromebook for the first time. Once you’ve logged in on that computer, you’re all set and won’t need it there again.
🗄️ There Are Two Kinds of Vaults — Here’s the Difference:
DEPARTMENT or BRANCH VAULTS (IT will help set these up to start and they will come later as we expand the Windows login computers)
Think of these as the team tool box. Managers can see and manage what’s in here.
Use these for shared accounts like PC Res and Canva Or any Shared login you use in your Branch or Department.
YOUR EMPLOYEE VAULT
This one is ALL yours — only you can see what’s inside! 🔒
Use it for your personal accounts like Library Market, Polaris, and Inova.
🔓 Locked Out?
It happens! Just ask your supervisor, manager, someone from your branch leadership, or contact IT and someone will get you sorted. It’s best to do this in person so find out who to talk to! IT will bring these team members online as accounts are accepted and set-up, so this list will grow over time.
