As we continue to strengthen our workplace culture and support professional growth across all locations, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to the members of the Work Enrichment (WE) Team. Your dedication, ideas, and engagement have helped lay the foundation for what comes next in our organization’s development. Thank you, MaKailah Allen, Liz Blanton, Lauren Christo, Kirsten Fakes, Lisa Mason, Kristen Sherry, Courtney Weiman, Susan Wheeler, and Connie Zilch, for the time, energy, and care you’ve contributed.
As we move forward, we are excited to introduce the Learning & Engagement Council (LEC)—our next evolution in supporting staff development, workplace culture, and shared learning across the district.
What is the Learning & Engagement Council?
The LEC is a districtwide group that will help guide, support, and champion:
• Staff learning and professional development opportunities
• Workplace culture initiatives
• Communication and connections across branches
• Planning and coordination for Staff Development Day and the three annual professional development half-days
• Sharing ideas and feedback that strengthen our “One Library, One Mission, Many Branches” vision
The LEC will work closely with the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Branch Operations Administrator (BOA), Co-Leadership Team, branch leadership, and Central Services to help ensure staff voices are represented and that our programs are meaningful, engaging, and aligned with our mission.
Seeking Members from Each Branch and Central Services
We are creating a council that reflects the full diversity of our library system, and we are inviting:
• One representative from each branch, and
• A few representatives from Central Services
This is an excellent opportunity for staff who are passionate about learning, engagement, communication, and helping shape our organizational culture. Members will attend monthly meetings and provide support for districtwide initiatives throughout the year.
If you’re interested in being considered for the new LEC, please read through the position description, which can be found here, discuss with your manager, and then reply to this email by December 23.
Thank you again to the WE Team for your service and contributions. Thank you also to everyone who continues to support our mission and one another. I’m excited for this next chapter and the collaborative work ahead.
Best,
Tiffany
