“I worked at the MK Ask Us Desk with Adrienne Buhse a few days ago on a Saturday. It was an extremely busy day and we were understaffed. A patron came in needing help remoting printing. This is normally a pretty routine request but it was made a little more complicated this time because the woman didn’t speak very much English and her printing needs were complex. I was busy helping other customers so Adri helped the patron with the entire transaction. Adri used Google translate to help the patron but more impressively, Adri also spoke Spanish to the woman. I didn’t get the impression that Adri is fluent in Spanish but I think it helped the patron feel more at ease that Adri was trying to communicate with her in her primary language. A lot of other people might have felt too self-conscious to try communicating in a language that isn’t their primary language or one that they don’t use on a regular basis.”

“Dena is very attentive to the needs of the public and her coworkers and is very willing to help when she sees the need. Recently I had to pack a big item to return to one of our vendors and she saw me struggling to get it in the box and offered to help. She did an excellent job helping me, getting it in the box, taping it shut and wheeling it to the place where it would be picked up. I applaud Dena not only for helping me, but also for the many times she tactfully talks to our patrons when assisting them.”
